Morgan Wallen Arrested on Suspicion of Reckless Endangerment in Nashville

Morgan Wallen was arrested Sunday night in Nashville and booked into jail, according to multiple reports.

Billboard Wallin’s attorney, Vork G. Robinson of Vork Robinson Law, confirmed the arrest in a statement Monday morning.

“Sunday at 10:53 p.m., Morgan Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville on charges of reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He is cooperating fully with authorities,” read the statement.

Local news station WSMV-TV reported that Wallen’s arrest came after he allegedly threw a chair over the top of Chiefs Bar, which is owned by fellow country music star Eric Church and was celebrating its opening weekend. was

Citing an arrest affidavit, the outlet reported that Wallin was six stories up on the roof of the bar around 10:45 p.m. Sunday, when witnesses saw him pick up a chair, throw it on the roof and laugh at it. The chair landed within three feet of two Metro Nashville Police Department officers.

The 30-year-old country star was charged with gross reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor, according to the affidavit. He posted a $15,250 bond and has since been released from jail.

Wallin has returned to the music scene following a February 2021 video in which he was heard shouting the N-word and other expletives. Wallen checked himself into a rehab facility after the incident and said he was on “72 hours of a 72-hour bender.” The singer’s recording contract with Big Loud Records was suspended indefinitely at the time, among other career consequences.

He later returned with a performance at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards, following the ban and making no mention of the incident. He won the country’s highest male artist award.

Since his return, Wallin has received several major award show nominations. Meanwhile, his sold-out tour is the most anticipated tour of 2024.
